Celtic's organisation at board level has been questioned since the end ot he season, with Martin O'Neill yet to be confirned as the club's permanent boss despite reaching an agreement.
O'Neill has agreed to return after his double-yielding interim spell, agreeing a one-year deal that most fans approve of, especially after Robbie Keane held talks with the club sparking backlash.
Delays on more fronts that just O'Neill
Celtic fans have been growing more and more frustrated by the lack of announcement over O'Neill's appointment, and it's already clear the club is losing ground in the transfer market, with others already agreeing deals around the country.
But it's not just O'Neill that the club can't seem to get their ducks in line with. According to The Herald, the Bhoys are yet to even reach an agreement with O'Neill's background staff despite knowing for the best part of week who their next manager is going to be.
It's claimed key staff members Shaun Maloney or Mark Fotheringham, who helped the Bhoys to a double win in the season just gone, are yet to reach a contractual agreement with the club. That will be a concern to O'Neill, who will want his tried and trusted coaches behind him for the season coming.
And there is no hiding that background staff are that much more important to a manager like O'Neill who, at 74 years of age, is not going to be running the actual day-to-day training, even if he is planning what it entails.
Old-school bosses like O'Neill commonly take up more of a watching role during sessions anyway, rather than the nitty-gritty coaching, and it's unlikely you will find a manager over 70 anywhere who is putting in the hard yards on the grass.
Celtic are going to want to get those deals sorted, and it will likely take getting them sorted for O'Neill to officially put pen-to-paper. The potential delay is likely to anger Celtic fans further, given it has felt like a turbulent summer already, especially due to the Keane controversy.
The lack of communication between the club and fans has not gone down well, and the sooner O'Neill can be confiemed, the quicker everyone can move on and begin getting excited for the new season, albeit with the World Cup taking centre stage.
For now, fans are left refreshing their feeds in the hope an announcement will, at some point, pop up.
