It is safe to say that Celtic were not very active in terms of incomings in the winter transfer window. Only two additions were made to Brendan Rodgers' squad. That being said, they were excellent ones. Jota has had a positive impact straight off the bat, despite his lack of football over the past 18 months. And Jeffrey Schlupp has surprised everybody with how good he is. Most now want the club to sign him on a permanent basis.
A lot of eyes are already turning towards the upcoming summer transfer window. Other than Schlupp, the fans would like to see more signings being made.
One player Celtic have been linked with is Lennon Miller of Motherwell. Those rumours have faded away a bit in recent times though. So, are the Hoops no longer interested in the midfielder?
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are continuing to keep close tabs on Miller ahead of a potential summer bid. The Hoops made contact with Motherwell at the end of the last transfer window but were told he wasn’t available for transfer.
Celtic eyeing midfielder it will take record fee to sign
It will take a significant sum to sign Miller though. It is believed that Motherwell would be looking for a record transfer fee, which would be far in excess of the £3.25 million they received from Celtic for David Turnbull in 2020.
Celtic won't be helped by the fact that a number of big clubs from abroad are believed to be interested in signing Miller as well. That makes it difficult for the Hoops to compete financially and easier for Motherwell to stick to the transfer fee they want.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Miller. Will he be a Celtic player come next season? We shall find out soon.
