One of the complaints that Celtic fans have had for a while is the lack of ambition that the club have shown when it comes to making signings. It feels like even the players they often target are not on the radar of top clubs. If their strategy is based on bringing in young talents and developing them, they have to some of the best in the world.
Perhaps then, they could hope for a decent success rate. Instead, it looks like they are rarely vying for players who are wanted by top clubs around Europe. Instead, the Hoops search for obscure talents.
Admittedly, sometimes such moves can work out and they might end up finding a terrific talent. But most of the time, they have not, and we have seen plenty of proof of that over the past few years for sure.
This time around, it looks like they have a highly-rated midfielder in their sights though. And he is also wanted by clubs like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, which has to be a great sign.

As reported by The Musket Fire, 18-year-old midfielder Allan Oyirwoth is drawing interest from top European clubs. That includes Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Celtic FC.
He plays in the MLS right now for New England Revolution. But his head coach has already talked about top clubs from overseas being interested in him.
So, it would not come as a surprise if Celtic are one of the clubs who are trying to sign the midfielder. Of course, it remains to be seen if they will make a move for him or not. And if they do, which is what we would hope for, will they be successful in signing him ahead of those other two teams.
