Wilfried Nancy has finally arrived at Celtic to take over first-team duties as the new permanent manager of the club. And he has big shoes to fill. Martin O'Neill certainly has not made things any easier for the Frenchman, in terms of expectations, after winning seven of his eight games during his interim stint following Brendan Rodgers' resignation.
Now, the fans have a clearer idea of what these players are capable. And it is up to Nancy to continue building on this newfound momentum.
Nancy has come with his own coaching staff. But at the same time, some familiar faces will be continuing at Celtic as well, and it might help the new manager find his feet at a club he won't know much about at the start.
Nancy has already taken charge of his first full session at Lennoxtown. And Gavin Strachan and Stevie Woods were alongside him.
Celtic duo set to stay despite Wilfried Nancy's arrival
Woods has been at Celtic since 2007. Strachan has spent a few years at Parkhead as well. So, both will know the club well and can help Nancy, and the new coaching appointments, find their feet.
Of course, the major coaching exit alongside Rodgers was that of John Kennedy. He had his fair share of critics over the years, but nobody can deny the amount of time he spent at Celtic in a variety of roles. So, the Hoops have lost a lot of experience in the dugout.
Not everybody is certain that Nancy is the right person for the job. Celtic do not have the strongest squad right now and need a master tactician to get the best out of what is available. The Frenchman might very well prove everybody wrong. That being said, his lack of experience in Europe is something that has left a large portion of the fanbase unconvinced.
