Celtic are expected to have a busy summer transfer window this time around if Brendan Rodgers' comments in recent weeks are anything to go by. The Hoops have not shown their best in the second half of the campaign and there is a feeling that a cycle is coming to an end for the club, with a squad, largely assembled by Ange Postecoglou, growing stagnant after four-straight league-winning seasons.
While we are expected to be saying goodbye to a lot of familiar faces, one will be making his return as well. The club have a pre-contract agreement in place with Kieran Tierney, who will be rejoining his boyhood club once his Arsenal contract runs out.
Celtic have never gone out and openly announced the pre-contract agreement. The only indication of it had been a passing statement in the annual report.
But now, the club have dropped a pretty open teaser about Tierney's impending return. In the season ticket renewal video, they show a shirt with his name being printed on the back. Even the title is 'Back for the Future', which can be read as another hint.
Celtic drop transfer teaser before summer window
Of course, Tierney is a phenomenal player. When he does make his return, he will be one of the best in Scottish football from the off.
The only reason that Celtic have not made any announcement regarding the move is probably out of their respect for Arsenal. One has to remember that Tierney is still playing on a consistent basis fro them.
In fact, he might return to Celtic as a Champions League winner if things go according to plan for Arsenal this season. They have made it to the semis with a win over Real Madrid, something not many would have seen coming to be honest.
