Celtic have seen a ton of players leave on loan in recent times, having struggled to find playing time under the management of Brendan Rodgers. The central defensive area is not completely set at this point in time and has been for a while. But even then, Gustaf Lagerbielke had failed to find any sort of consistent playing time while at Parkhead.

That led to her leaving the club in the last summer transfer window. Lagerbielke joined FC Twente on loan.

It is at the Dutch club that Lagerbielke has found some form. After spending the first few months of the season sitting on the bench or coming off as a substitute, the centre-back has managed to break into the starting XI and has gotten a series of consistent starts at FC Twente.

Yet, that is not expected to cause an increased role at Celtic when he does return at the end of the campaign after his loan spell. Instead, Lagerbielke's future seems to lie away from Glasgow.

As reported by the Mailsport (via The Celtic Way), Lagerbielke is 'unlikely' to have a long-term future at Celtic. Instead, the club will look to cash in in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Lagerbielike was signed in the same summer transfer window that Rodgers returned for his second spell as Celtic manager. But he was never able to establish himself as a starter for the Hoops and was being linked with a move away merely months into his time at the club.

Lagerbielke did not seem to fit into Celtic's style of football. He can be a decent contributor in the right system though, which is he is starting to show while on loan at FC Twente currently. Let's see what the future holds for him and where he will be playing his football next season.
