Reports have emerged in England that Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to loan out Evan Ferguson in January. Not too long ago, he was being viewed as the next £100 million Premier League player. But things have slowed down for the striker over the past couple of seasons and now, it looks like it is time for a change of scenery. Could Celtic Park bring that?
Celtic have unsurprisingly been linked with a loan move for Ferguson. It is not often that the Hoops have a realistic chance of signing talents of that quality, who are already in the Premier League.
As reported by TBR Football, Celtic and Rangers want to sign Ferguson on loan this winter. That is after Brighton & Hove Albion made him available for a January move.
Of course, Premier League clubs like Fulham and Leicester City have also been linked with a move for Ferguson. So, would a switch to Scotland appeal to him?
Celtic make decision on loan move for Evan Ferguson
Celtic do not have a third striker right now. So, it is not hard to see why the idea of bringing in Ferguson on loan would appeal to the club.
That being said, a move to Celtic looks difficult, in our opinion. And that is not because Ferguson would not be helped by the experience of playing for a club of this size. No, it is simply because there is no guarantee that he would get a ton of game time for the Hoops either. And that is the number one thing that Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking for when it comes to a loan move.
Also, there are many fans who would want to see that third striker spot go to a Celtic academy talent. That makes sense too because there is zero chance that Ferguson would have a long-term future at Parkhead.
