Alistair Johnston picked up an injury in the game against Kairat Almaty and had to be stretchered off. Celtic fans' worst fears have been confirmed as the extent of the issue is now clear. The Canadian international will remain out for twelve weeks and it looks like the Hoops are going to look for a solution internally, although there have been suggestions in the media about a new right-back being signed.

Unfortunately, there is further bad news for Celtic on the injury front. Alongside Johnston, it looks like two more players are carrying injuries at the moment.

One of them is Adam Idah. He has struggled to deliver in recent weeks and one has to wonder if the injury is a reason behind that. The other is Auston Trusty, who seems to be behind Liam Scales in the pecking order already and risks slipping further behind.

As reported by The Celtic Way, Brendan Rodgers said when discussing the injuries of Idah and Trusty:

"Adam Idah is struggling with his knee.

"Auston Trusty could be out for a bit with the plantar fasciitis that he has had."

This is bad news for Celtic. They already have a paper-thin roster in certain positions and it is only getting weaker with every passing day and every new injury.

Let's take Idah for example. Yes, we know that he was struggling up top at the moment. But do Celtic have a better option there.

Shin Yamada has not really impressed when given a chance, and the same can be said about Johnny Kenny as well. Neither of them look like they are ready to lead the line for the Hoops.

Of course, one of the solutions is shifting Daizen Maeda in the middle. There are two things though. Firstly, the Japanese forward has looked out of form for a little while as well and is not meeting the sky-high standards he had set for himself last season. Secondly, Celtic's depth on the wings is pretty poor as well.
