Celtic have made a bright start to this summer transfer window. They have already confirmed the addition of Kieran Tierney and Isaac English. Moves for Callum Osmand, Benjamin Nygren and Hayato Inamura are also believed to be on the verge of completion. And there are believed to be talks to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha as well, having been linked with him since last year.
On the other hand, despite their takeover by an American consortium, it does not look like much has changed when it comes to the Rangers' transfer policy. These are still early days though. So, let's wait and see how that plays out.
Of course, one thing that the Rangers have a habit of doing is releasing club statements. That has earned them the nickname of 'Statement FC' from Scottish football fans.
A lot of these statements are considered meaningless by rival fans. And Celtic appeared to take a dig at the Rangers by releasing one themselves.
Celtic's club statement takes clear dig at Rangers
Celtic simply released a 'club statement' this morning. And all it said was that the club would be bringing news about the league fixtures shortly.

In short, it did not need to be a statement and was pretty meaningless. Of course, that's where the tongue-in-cheek aspect of it comes into play. It is safe to say that most Rangers fans would not have been amused.
And yes, the fixtures were released shortly afterwards. Celtic have learned their opponents on Flag Day. They will be taking on St Mirren on August 3. The first Glasgow Derby of the campaign will be away at Ibrox on August 31.
Celtic have won four league titles in a row and will be looking to make it five this time around. It won't be easy but Brendan Rodgers has never lost a Premiership race.
