Celtic must be looking to strengthen after their 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Rangers at Ibrox in the most recent Glasgow Derby. The Hoops were by far the second-best team on the day and the one-sided nature of the match will have worried some people for sure. In the aftermath, they have been linked with player all across the pitch.

While most would like to see the club to strengthen up top, in midfield or in defence, it looks like the Hoops could be looking to add to their options between the posts. That is despite the excellent job that Kasper Schmeichel has done since arriving in the summer.

The truth of the matter is that Schmeichel is 38 years of age. He is not the long-term solution for Celtic, no matter which way you look at it. But a 26-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper might be.

As reported by Star, it has been claimed that Altay Bayındır is close to an agreement with Celtic. It could be made official with the opening of the transfer period.

It remains to be seen how accurate this information is. This is not the first time that Bayindir has been linked with a move to Celtic.

Before Celtic signed Schmeichel in the summer, Bayindir was believed to be a potential option for the Hoops as well. Let's see if they try to sign him this winter or not.

Bayindir's move to Manchester United has not worked out at all and it is time for a change. But if he does end up at Celtic Park, what would that mean for the future of Viljami Sinisalo, who was also signed in the summer? Many were viewing the former Aston Villa man as the long-term successor to Schmeichel.
