Celtic are heading into one of the most important games of their season, and arguably the most difficult domestically. They will take on Aberdeen at Hampden Park this weekend in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup. The Dons are flying high at the moment after their win against the Rangers in midweek.

Aberdeen are level on points with Celtic in the league and nine ahead of the Rangers. Absolutely nobody could have predicted this at the start of the season.

In fact, Aberdeen have shown that they can get it done against Celtic as well. They came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Brendan Rodgers' side at Parkhead. Not many have achieved that against the Hoops in their own backyard.

Naturally, Celtic will want to be at their best against Aberdeen this weekend. And there is some good news regarding injuries for them heading into the big game.

Adam Idah and Callum McGregor were the two big fitness question marks heading into the Scottish League Cup semi-final. The captain has missed the last couple of games while the striker was on the end of a bad tackle in the game against Motherwell and has been in a moon boot recently.

Fortunately, it looks like both are fine and Celtic do not have many injury issues to sweat about going into the Hampden Park match. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Rodgers said in his press conference:

"We are in a really good place. Everyone is fit and healthy. We’ve only got one in Odin, who has been out for a little while with his calfs. Other than that, I’m really happy that we’ve managed to get through to this period now in a really healthy way. So, (they’re) all fine fitness wise."

Of course, Celtic need to be careful. It was a game of two halves the last time these two teams met. The Hoops were cruising before the break only for Aberdeen to draw level in the second half. They even had the ball in the back of the net a third time only for it to be ruled out.

It is possible that Celtic did not take Aberdeen's challenge as seriously as they should have the first time around. The Dons are the real deal though and the Hoops need to bring their A-game to Hampden Park this weekend if they don't want to be on the end of a cup upset.
