It is safe to say that Celtic have a lot of things to be worried about at the moment. Just when it had looked like they were starting to build some momentum, the one-sided defeat at the hands of FC Midtjylland has brought them back down to Earth. Martin O'Neill might have squeezed a couple of good results out of this team. But this is not a good squad by any means, we cannot suddenly forget that.
It is also worth mentioning that they are missing key players through injury. And it looks like Arne Engels had a scare in the game against FC Midtjylland as well.
Engels has been one of Celtic's better players in recent weeks. The most impressive aspect of his game has been his deliveries, which have caused opposition defenders trouble and led to quite a few goals already.
So, Celtic will want to have him around for sure, even when he is not starting. The issue is, it looks like he might have picked up a hamstring issue in their recent outing in Europe.
Celtic boss confirms Arne Engels injury worry out of nowhere
Engels was taken off in the 74th minute of the game. Most had believed that it was a tactical change on the part of Celtic and nothing more. But as it turns out, there might have been an issue to be worried about.
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, O'Neill said about the status of Engels:
"I think he (Arne Engels) was feeling his hamstring as well, so the games are coming thick and fast for us, playing European football."
Well, that is the last thing you want to hear about a player in form. Celtic do not have too many of them at the moment. So, one can only hope that it was only a scare and any injury was avoided. But considering how luck has gone recently, nothing would surprise us.
