Brendan Rodgers has witnessed quite a few Rangers managers come and go during his time at Celtic Park. Philippe Clement became the latest on that list recently after he was sacked following a 2-0 loss at Ibrox against St Mirren. The Belgian had failed to get a tune out of them for a long time and his departure had become inevitable.

Clement had been handed a long-term contract by the Rangers just earlier this season. Clearly, it was not in their plans to sack him anytime soon.

Steven Gerrard is available at the moment, having been shown the exit door by Al-Ettifaq last month. Yet, the Rangers decided to go for a short-term solution, bringing in Barry Ferguson as their interim boss until the end of the season.

What does Rodgers make of it all though, having to go up against Ferguson as Rangers boss? Well, seemingly, he has not even given it much thought. As reported by The Herald, the Celtic manager said about the matter:

"With the greatest respect, I'm concentrating on Celtic vs Aberdeen, and that's my only focus."

Some old comments from Rodgers had gone viral recently. They were from late 2023 when the Rangers were playing well under the management of Clement. And it looks like the Northern Irishman's outlook on things has not changed since then.

It will be interesting to see what the Rangers do, if they somehow start playing well under the management of Ferguson. He does not have much experience, having only managed in the Scottish lower divisions with teams like Kelty Hearts and Clyde.

One cannot overlook the possibility of a new manager bounce. That has often happened at Ibrox in recent years, before quickly fading away. It was the same story with Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Mick Beale and Clement. What does the future hold?
