Celtic boss shares why Cameron Carter-Vickers missed training amid fears
Cameron Carter-Vickers is one of Celtic's best players. Unfortunately, he is also amongst the most injury prone. Over the past couple of years, the American has been constantly in and out of the team. And when he is absent, it is pretty clear that the Hoops struggle without him at the back. Just take their performances from a few weeks back for example and look at the difference he has made since coming in.
Naturally, fans were left worried when news emerged that Carter-Vickers had missed training. Considering his injury history, nobody can be blamed for fearing that he had picked up another issue.
Fortunately, it looks like that is not the case. And he was not the only one absent from training either. So was his centre-back partner and US international teammate, Auston Trusty.
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Brendan Rodgers said about the duo's situation and the reason behind their absence from training:
"You’re absolutely right (Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty) weren’t training but that was more precautionary.
“Just giving them that little extra bit. We’ve obviously had two very tough, physical days and four games so just doing some light work and we’ll see how they are tomorrow."

That will be music to the ears of Celtic fans. But at the same time, we might not be completely out of the woods yet.
In the past, we have seen Carter-Vickers' situation not look anything serious, only for him to end up missing multiple games. So, one can only wait and see how things go for him. Hopefully, he will be fit to take part in Celtic's next game, which is against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Celtic might be flying high right now, having won against Aberdeen and RB Leipzig since the last weekend. But now, it is time to focus on the Premiership again, where things remain tight. The Dons have the same number of points as them and any slip up would allow Jimmy Thelin's side to take a lead in the title race.
