Over the coming days, weeks and months, Celtic are expected to be linked with a number of players. That is the reality of life at Parkhead. The aim is to always improve, even if you end the season with a domestic treble. And that won't change this time around either. So, let's see how things play out for the Hoops over the course of the summer transfer window.
Some eyes will also be on the club's former players, who could help bring in windfalls through sell-on clauses if they make moves this summer. And it looks like one of them is closing in on a transfer.
The player we are talking about is none other than Alexandro Bernabei. It was in January that he made a permanent move to SC Internacional for a transfer package rising up to £5 million. Now, it looks like he could be about to change clubs again.
As reported by the Daily Record, reports in Argentina are suggesting that talks over Bernabei to Sevilla from Internacional are advanced. Real Betis had sent scouts to watch the left-back as well but he looks to be headed for their La Liga rivals.
Celtic boost as advanced talks take place over transfer
Celtic are believed to hold a sell-on clause for Bernabei. And if other examples are anything to go by, that is expected to be a significant figure as well.
Things clearly did not work out for Bernabei at Celtic. But in the grand scheme of things, it looks like he might have proven to be a successful signing for the Hoops regardless, considering the transfer fees he could bring to the club.
The left-back situation remains an interesting one at Celtic as well. The future of Greg Taylor remains unclear with no contract extension announced yet.
