The fans have been looking for some answers for several weeks now. But except for an official statement that fell flat and a couple of paragraphs while announcing the record revenue and profits, there has not been much in the name of communication from the club, despite the growing dissatisfaction amongst the fanbase. And it looks like the supporters are now making their voice heard by simply not buying tickets to the Europa League fixtures.
Celtic will welcome SC Braga to Parkhead for the first of four home fixtures in the Europa League. But fan interest seems to be at an all-time low, or pretty close to it.
When was the last time that you remember the club putting out so many announcements regarding tickets? There are only a couple of days before the game and the Hoops have put out another one.
In their latest statement, Celtic have announced that the Print at Home option is now available for this fixture. Then there are three more paragraphs, reminding the fans about how there is no place like Parkhead on European nights.
Celtic board must be getting worried after latest announcement
To be very honest, the club have nobody but themselves to blame for the lack of interest in this game, and the other Europa League fixtures as well. The lack of ambition that they showed in the summer transfer window left the fans unhappy.
That has been followed by a boring start to the campaign. Celtic are trailing Hearts in the league title race and have only scored eight goals in their first six Premiership games.
For comparison, Hearts have scored 15 times in the same number of games and are two points ahead as well. So, it is not hard to understand why the supporters are not happy.
