Celtic are set to sign two players this summer. Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan. Both came through the ranks here and will be returning to their boyhood clubs. In both instances, pre-contract agreements are in place. The Hoops have not gone out, made a transfer bid and signed anyone so far though. Fans are looking forward to seeing that happen soon.
There had been speculation that Celtic had put in one bid this summer. It was for Harley Mills of Peterborough United. The fast-rising left-back who has also caught the eye of Fulham.
But as it turns out, the rumour was wide of the mark. As reported by Mark Hendry, Celtic are keen on Mills, but no official offer has been tabled despite suggestions that Peterborough United had received a bid.
Of course, this does not mean that Celtic cannot put in an offer to sign Mills in the future. But for now, the speculation about them making a bid was not true. That's the latest on the situation.
Celtic bid rumour rubbished by reliable journalist
Of course, if Celtic do end up making a push to sign someone like Mills this summer, it would be a clear indication that neither Greg Taylor nor Jeffrey Schlupp is set to stay at the club. Will a 19-year-old be able to replace such veterans?
Taylor is out of contract. Celtic are believed to have made him a new offer. But at the same time, it is believed that he has a more lucrative one from PAOK in Greece.
On the other hand, Schlupp is available as a free agent, with his contract at Crystal Palace running out. There is believed to be some interest from Celtic in bringing him back on a permanent basis but English Championship clubs want the veteran as well.
