For weeks, Celtic fans have waited for some good news in the January transfer window. So far, only two additions have been made to the squad, despite the Hoops' struggles this season. Julian Araujo was brought in for the rest of the season back when Wilfried Nancy was still the manager. And Tomas Cvancara, a loan signing from Borussia Monchengladbach, has been the addition made under Martin O'Neill.
The manager has never made it a secret to the media that he wants more signings to be made. And it looks like the club have finally entered negotiations over another move.
While most of the talk has been about signing another striker, or potentially even a centre-back, Celtic also need to strengthen on the flanks. In fact, they now look closer to a deal for a winger than any other position on the pitch.
As reported by Mark Hendry on his Substack, Celtic have began club to club talks over Damir Redzic. The Hoops are now in negotiations with Dunajska Streda as they look to bolster their winger options before the deadline.
Celtic begin negotiations to sign international winger
Redzic is 22 years of age and he is a full Hungarian international. In recent times, he has been linked with both Celtic and the Rangers. But it appears that the Hoops have now taken a lead over their Glasgow rivals.
He has been in form for Dunajska Streda as well. So, it is not hard to see why Celtic might be looking to sign him before the winter window slams shut in a few days.
Of course, we cannot forget that we have seen Celtic start talks to sign plenty of players in recent times without things leading anywhere. So, until a deal is done, nothing can be considered certain in a move.
