Celtic are now being linked with a third striker signing despite already bolstering their attack with Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh this summer. The Bhoys are now said to be showing interest in Hearts frontman Claudio Braga.
Martin O'Neill wants and needs more help within his squad, which has big holes in a number of areas. Celtic are still without a true starting goalkeeper, while they only have one left-back. The Hoops are also likely going to have to sign at least two midfielders, but they are having joy with their winger efforts, with Haissem Hassan expected to arrive from Real Oviedo.
Celtic inerested in another striker
Celtic are said to be interested in a move for Hearts frontman Braga, who is reportedly attracting plenty of attention this summer.
Pete O'Rourke posted on X: "Celtic are ready to step up their interest in Hearts star Claudio Braga as they explore a move before the close of the window. Several sides from overseas are also weighing up moves for Braga."
Braga scored 14 times in the Premiership last season and was a key part of Hearts' title bid, which saw them push Celtic to the last game. The forward won the PFA Scotland Player of the Year last season, and it is a little surprising that there hasn't been more interest in his services this summer.
Hearts are said to be asking for between ÂŁ8million and ÂŁ10million to sell, which would be another big fee for Celtic to spend on a forward. The Bhoys have already spent ÂŁ11million on Hogh and a further ÂŁ5.5million on Duran.
With Callum Osmand there, it seems unlikely Celtic would try to sign another striker, and they still have to offload Johnny Kenny. There are big gaps elsewhere in the squad, so it would be baffling if they were to go and spend up to ÂŁ10million on another striker in the meantime.
McInnes praise for Braga
Speaking last season, then Hearts boss Derek McInnes said of Braga: "He can be that talisman for us when he's playing in that sort of free-flowing vein with confidence oozing from him.”
“His output's unbelievable… His fitness, he's absolutely dedicated to his craft. He makes the sacrifices. He's all about his fitness and his level of performance.”
The 26-year-old has been with Hearts since 2025, when he joined from Aslesund, managing a similar goal return of 12 goals in 37 league appearances there.
