The majority of the speculation surrounding Celtic over the last few days has been regarding Kasper Dolberg, and the impact that signing or failing to sign him could have on Adam Idah's future, who has already passed a medical with Swansea City. To be honest, one would hope that the Hoops are able to complete a deal for the Anderlecht striker but we all know how shaky the club are when it comes to getting deals over the line. And with only a few days left in the window, who knows what will happen.
There are other areas where Celtic need to make additions as well though. We had been told a week or so back that the Hoops would look to finish the window with two more wingers, a left-back, a striker and a right-back, depending on the extent of Alistair Johnston's injury.
Well, so far, Michel-Ange Balikwisha has been signed from Royal Antwerp and Marcelo Saracchi has been brought in on loan from Boca Juniors. It remains to be seen how many more additions are made before the end of deadline day.
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic have tabled a new, improved £4 million bid for Sebastian Tounekti after having an offer around £3 million turned down. But Hammarby are believed to be reluctant to part ways with him this summer.
Celtic make £4 million bid for international winger
Tounekti is a full Tunisian international. It was just earlier this year that Hammarby had signed him from Haugesund for a fee believed to be in the region of €1.2 million. They could pocket multipe times of that just six months later.
Tounekti primarily plays on the left flank and in 26 appearances for Hammarby, he has scored two goals and provided five assists. Those are decent numbers but not extraordinary by any means.
As things stand, it might be difficult for Celtic to get a deal over the line. Whatever they do, they need to do it quickly and cannot allow transfer sagas to drag on, like they have all summer, without a happy ending in most cases.
