Cameron Carter-Vickers must be getting used to winning trophies by now. Having joined Celtic in the summer of 2021, initially on loan from Tottenham Hotspur which was made permanent a year later, the American defender won his 8th piece of silverware with the Hoops as they clinched the Scottish League Cup on penalties against the Rangers this weekend.

Carter-Vickers has been a central figure in all of those wins. And while questions will be raised about the Celtic defence after conceding three goals in a final, the American international's place in the team is secure.

Over his time at Celtic, Carter-Vickers has become a fan favourite. He seems to enjoy the rivalry with the Rangers as well.

After the Scottish League Cup win, many Celtic players were pictured at the darts. Carter-Vickers took the opportunity to take a cheeky dig at the Rangers by holding up a sign that read '119'. Anthony Joseph tweeted out the picture,

Of course, 119 refers to the number of trophies that Celtic have won following their Scottish League Cup triumph at the weekend. Interestingly, that is one more than the 118 trophies that the Rangers have won, combined.

Does that now make Celtic the most successful club in world football? We would like to think so. Won't you?

Of course, while it is always important to celebrate success, and take a few cheeky digs here and there, one has to remember that the season is far from over. Celtic still have two domestic trophies to compete for.

The close final raised a few questions for sure. Ones that Celtic need to find the answer to before they face the Rangers again. But fortunately, even on a bad day at the office, they were good enough to win a trophy.
