Captain Callum McGregor has insisted that Celtic must stay calm and try to win every single game from now until the end of the season. The leader of men acknowledged that the Celts are still chasing the title, but even if they were top of the table, the expectation would still be to win.

After the 2-1 victory over Hibs that saw Kelechi Iheanacho come off the bench and net the winner despite refereeing controversy, McGregor has issued a message that will resonate with fans.

Speaking to RecordSport, he said: "It's just trying to keep everybody calm.

"I said before the game, having thought about it the last couple of days, we're Celtic. We have to win every game.

"Of course, we are where we are in terms of chasing and trying to win the title. But even in previous seasons when you had won it, there's still an expectation on you to win anyway.

"That has to be the mindset. We train like that every single day, and every day we have to be winners. That's the DNA of the club, so it doesn't really change because we're chasing in these last few games.

"It should be an everyday habit so that when you come to the games, it becomes normal for you."

Speaking about what comes next in the title race, notably when Rangers take on Hearts on Monday, he said: "We have to win all the games. It's only significant [the Rangers v Hearts result] if we win next week, and then Wednesday and then Saturday.

"We know where we are. Every game is massive, and we have to approach it in the right way. We've done that [against Hibs], and it's a big win, for sure. But we have to stay calm and keep on working."

McGregor is pushing the team forward

McGregor is doing what every captain should - he's pushing the team on constantly, and he won't stop until the season draws to a close. That is what we need from a skipper, and it shows why the Scotsman deserves that armband.

He is also putting in amazing performances on the pitch, often influencing the game alongside other key players like Benjamin Nygren and Arne Engels. He has played over 1,000 minutes more than any other midfielder at the club.

McGregor will undoubtedly play a major part in the title run-in, and it all starts next weekend when Celtic face Rangers at Parkhead. It's going to be a blockbuster occasion, and hopefully, the Hoops will come out on top.
