Celtic are the best team in Scotland and by some distance. The Hoops have shown some impressive improvement in Europe as well and there is a genuine possibility that they could make it to the next phase of the Champions League. And it looks like Brendan Rodgers is looking to make further improvements to his squad in January.
Celtic have quality options all over the pitch right now. One could argue that many players are not getting the playing time that they deserve.
That seemingly has not stopped Rodgers from seeking out further improvements. And it looks like there are two positions on the pitch which he is looking to strengthen further in the upcoming January transfer window.
What are these two positions? As reported by the Daily Mail (via 67 Hail Hail), Rodgers is said to have set his sights on a left winger and bringing in a youngster as the third striker.
Brendan Rodgers wants Celtic to sign two players in January
When it comes to the left flank, Daizen Maeda is the starter there. And while he is not the conventional option in that position, nobody can argue with his output and effectiveness this season. His recent effort saw him score the equaliser in Celtic's 1-1 draw against Club Brugge.
On the other hand though, Luis Palma's Celtic exit feels inevitable. Even though the club were looking for a goal against Club Brugge in that same game, he was left on the bench as an unused substitute, despite his known ability to score goals.
As for the striker position, Celtic have two great options in Kyogo and Adam Idah. But with their schedule, they need another cover option in case of injury. A youngster would be ideal as he would not be looking to get minutes in every game.
