The last 24 hours have been completely about the Rangers and their failed pursuit of Steven Gerrard, with the Englishman turning down the Ibrox job despite being without a club at the moment. It remains to be seen who they try to bring in next, with names like Danny Rohl cropping up as potential alternatives. Of course, this is a situation that Celtic fans will enjoy.
That being said, Celtic's own managerial situation is not set in stone for the long term. Brendan Rodgers has always maintained that he will see out his contract at the very least and we believe him.
That being said, it is hard to imagine him signing an extension, with his current deal running out next summer. He clearly was not backed in the summer and nobody can blame him if he wants a change of scenery at the end of the campaign and his contract.
Of course, if Rodgers did end up leaving, one would not imagine that there would be any lack of interest in his signature. In fact, a London club are already being tipped as a possible destination for the Northern Irishman.
Brendan Rodgers tipped to leave Celtic for London club next year
As reported by Football Insider, Rodgers to Crystal Palace is a possibility with Oliver Glasner’s future up in the air. With the Northern Irishman expected to become available next summer, the Eagles will surely be contemplating an approach.
Glasner has done a phenomenal job at Crystal Palace. Before that, he won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, against the Rangers in the final.
So, there would not be any lack of interest in Glasner with his contract running out next summer as well. Could Rodgers end up being the replacement for him at Crystal Palace? We shall see.
