Celtic are looking to strengthen in this summer transfer window. They have already made five new additions to Brendan Rodgers' squad but a lot more work is needed on this team, especially after seeing Nicolas Kuhn and Greg Taylor leave in recent days. Both of them were consistent starters even last season. It is also worth mentioning that they never really replaced Kyogo when he left for Rennes in January.

It is not going to be an easy task for Celtic to find a proper replacement for players of that quality. And the recent pre-season defeat shows that the Hoops need to make additions as soon as possible with the new season not far away.

On top of that, Celtic will need to qualify for the Champions League this time. For the past three seasons, they had gotten an automatic spot in the competition as a result of winning the Premiership.

The good news is, work is being done in the background. Replacing Kuhn and Kyogo seems to be the task that the club are focusing on. That is what Rodgers' latest comments suggest. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the manager said:

"I think there’s work going on behind the scenes. It’s clear we need to improve the squad. A lot of work is going on behind the scenes, there are loads of names floating about.

“I think the positions you’ve mentioned, we’re clear that we need to improve our frontline. We lost Kyogo in January and another player with Nicolas gone.

“That’s a lot of goals that’s gone out of the team. So for us, we need to strengthen that area of the field. But the guys back home are working hard on that."

It was just recently that Kuhn's move to Como was made official. But the club must have known about his desire to leave for a while. So, one would hope that they have replacements in their sights.

On the other hand, Kyogo left in January. Celtic were linked with quite a few strikers back then but were not able to bring in any of them, instead moving Daizen Maeda to a central role.

So, all things considered, Celtic have been given more than enough time to find replacements for these players. Now, let's see if they can identify and then sign the right ones this summer.
