It would be safe to say that these have been a few eventful weeks at Celtic, even if not the most happy. The fans are dissatisfied with how the club is being run, especially after what was arguably the worst summer transfer window in their history. But things do not end there and several other issues need to be addressed.
There is also the matter of the briefing in the media that came out recently. It suggested that several chiefs at Parkhead were unhappy with Brendan Rodgers and felt that he was trying to engineer an exit.
We do not need to tell you why that is a problem, especially at the start of the season with the manager still having a year left on his contract. That is not a situation that Rodgers should have ever been put in.
Well, what has come out of the matter? As reported by CeltsAreHere, a journalist asked Rodgers about whether he had received any indication since calling out the briefing as a cowardly act. The manager said:
"It’s done. It’s done."
Brendan Rodgers confirms latest update on Celtic leak
That suggests that either the investigation into the matter is complete. Or, it might be that there have been talks between Rodgers and the chiefs and they have put the issue behind them.
Whatever the case may be, the best step from here is to move forward and make sure that something like that is never repeated in the future. For now, the focus has to be on the season ahead with Celtic still having a lot to play for.
Rodgers has never lost a league title race in his time in Scotland. And he finds himself in a great position to carry on that streak with the start to the season that the Rangers have made this time.
