It would be pretty safe to say that Wilfried Nancy's start to life as the manager of Celtic has been an absolute nightmare for the Frenchman. He debuted with a defeat at home against an out-of-form Hearts team. That was followed up by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of AS Roma at Parkhead in the Europa League. And the most damaging one was the Scottish League Cup final loss, with St Mirren winning 3-1 to life the first piece of silverware of the Scottish season.

Even the most pessimistic of fans would not have expected things to be this bad under Nancy. It already feels like the beginning of the end for a manager who arrived only a couple of weeks back.

The fans would have certainly felt a lot more confident if the club had stuck with Martin O'Neill. In fact, it has looked like the Northern Irishman was willing to carry on at Parkhead but the board decided that the time was right to bring in Nancy. That was one in a long list of errors they have made.

On the other hand, Brendan Rodgers has found himself a new home less than two months after he resigned from his post at Celtic. Al Qadsiah have announced him as their new head coach.

A lot of people had predicted that Rodgers would make the move to the Saudi Pro League after leaving Celtic. And he has done just that.

It has to be a far more lucrative contract than the one he had at Celtic. We can only wish him the best in this next step in his career.

As for Celtic, times are tough at the moment. And there is no certainty about what the future holds under Nancy.
