Celtic made it past Partick Thistle to book their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup, where they will be facing the Rangers. Russell Martin's side had already booked their Hampden Park date earlier in the weekend with a win over Hibernian. Now, the Glasgow Derby is set and it promises to be an interesting game for sure.

The last time the two sides met a few weeks back, it ended in a boring goalless draw. We will be expecting a lot more from their next meeting, that is for sure.

On paper, Celtic might look like favourites but we have seen them struggle against the Rangers in recent meetings, despite the Ibrox's terrible form. Hopefully, they can get past that hurdle in their next meeting and book their spot in the final of the Scottish League Cup.

Of course, you would never expect either set of fans to admit that they are unhappy or worried at the prospect of facing the other. But a lot of the Rangers' supporters do sound that way after the draw was announced.

One Rangers fans wrote on the announcement post: "That will be my birthday weekend ruined, cheers."

Another said: "Better get martin out now, let a new manager sort the team out."

But at the same time, there are the expected comments as well, as one wrote: "Feel more confident playing Celtic than the other two, happy with the draw."

Then again, there might be a hint of truth to that. We have seen the Rangers struggle badly up against other Scottish teams but is has been a little while since they lost to Celtic. That is something that Brendan Rodgers has somewhat struggled with in his second spell at Parkhead.

For the time being, there are a lot more games to be played between now and that game between the two Glasgow giants. The situation could be a lot different by the time we get to it. Martin might not be the manager of the Rangers. Or somehow, he might have been able to steady the ship. Who knows?
