Benjamin Arthur has revealed in a social media Q&A the two Celtic teammates that he looks up to the most. His answers will come as no surprise.
He named two figures who have plenty of experience between them: Callum McGregor and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. McGregor has won all there is to win in Scotland, and the Ox has a wealth of Premier League experience under his belt after all those years at Liverpool.
Since joining Celtic, Arthur has been performing brilliantly. He got his first start for the club out of nowhere after Dane Murray suffered an injury before the Aberdeen game. Murray was named on the teamsheet, but it was a quick change, and he did so well that he kept his place at Ibrox for the following game.
He has been impressing supporters, and some people are hoping that the Hoops will now make a move to bring him to the club permanently. He joins from English top-flight side Brentford, so the question is, if the Celts do move for him, if he will be tempted by more gametime this side of the border.
The two players he named are brilliant picks, and you would have to think those would be the names in the minds of plenty of other players at the club.
Even though the Ox hasn't performed to the best of his ability since joining Celtic, you can't blame him because he has been nine months without a competitive game of football. Once he's up to speed, and hopefully it won't take long, he'll be utter class.
McGregor is currently out injured, but he is the best captain that the club could ask for. He leads the Hoops to glory, and although things have been tough this season, he has helped to pull us through it. There's a reason that he makes so many appearances for Celtic every season, and that's because he is incredibly reliable.
Arthur should start going into the final stages
It's not a big statement to say that Arthur should get the chance to start going into the final stages of the season. Celtic are in a title race, and he could help them to that trophy lift.
Auston Trusty is set to return from his three-match suspension next match, so he will be available for selection, which could be bad news for Arthur. Martin O'Neill should trust him though, because he has proven that he has what it takes.
