Just like that, deadline day has arrived. Celtic have left themselves way too much work for the last day of the summer transfer window. Unfortunately, this is not a rare instance either. Even last year, we saw them complete a triple signing of Auston Trusty, Luke McCowan and Arne Engels on deadline day. And it looks like they are hoping to pull off something similar once again.

In fact, they might be looking to go a step further and complete four signings on this deadline day. The Hoops have their eyes set on adding a couple of strikers to their ranks alongside two wingers as well.

As reported by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are hoping to secure deals for Kasper Dolberg, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Sebastian Tounekti on deadline day. They’re also looking to bring in another striker, which may have to come via an offer to them or a loan.

Celtic have already made more than one failed offer for Dolberg and Tounekti. On the other hand, they also submitted a loan bid for Rak-Sakyi recently, although there is heavy competition for his signature, with clubs like Rangers, Lyon and more in the race. Finally, it appears that the Hoops will be going for not one but two strikers on deadline day, although the situation seems to be fluid.

Of course, it is good to see Celtic show ambition by hoping to secure four signings on deadline day. That being said, it remains to be seen how realistic their aims are.

This is a club we have seen struggle to get deals over the line all summer. Will they suddenly be able to complete four of them on the busiest day of the window? We are not convinced but hope to be proven wrong.

At the very least, they need to make two more signings before the deadline. One of them has to be Dolberg, as a quality striker is needed in this team. They cannot go for a short-term fix and hope things work out. The second has to be a quality winger. They are lacking in that area of the pitch with Nicolas Kuhn leaving, while Jota is out injured. Michel-Ange Balikwisha has been brought in but he failed to impress in his debut against the Rangers at Ibrox.
