It is certainly curious that the Wilfried Nancy to Celtic situation has gone completely quiet over the last couple of days. There have been no new updates. Not too long ago, it had looked like an appointment was imminent and would be done before the international break came to an end. Now, it is pretty clear that won't happen.

Of course, delays can occur in football. There are a lot of hurdles to overcome overall, including agreeing on a compensation fee with Columbus Crew.

That being said, one would expect that the media would put out a lot more updates than they have regarding this situation, especially if it was getting closer to completion. So, one has to wonder if talks have stalled or are headed nowhere at all.

On the other hand, it looks like another manager has confirmed that there is interest in him from Glasgow. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking to the Mexican media, Efrain Juarez admitted that there is interest from Celtic in his services:

"Obviously, there has been interest from other clubs. In every sense, that, for me, is not distracting.

“I think we know perfectly well that the club is aware of the situation, because I also played there. And it’s not easy for a young Mexican coach to be involved in that type of club.

“For me, they obviously see and think that maybe we’re doing a good job. In that respect, I’m calm."

Of course, Juarez had a spell at Celtic as a player. It was not a successful one though and he will be well aware of how high the expectations are at Parkhead.

His managerial career so far has been mixed. He found early success in Colombia but has found the going much tougher in Mexico.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for him as a manager. But it does look like Celtic are keeping an eye out on his situation as they look for a new permanent boss, as had been reported in the media.
