It would be safe to say that the Celtic squad is not in a great spot right now. They have left themselves light in a number of positions on the pitch. Striker is certainly one of them. When Kyogo departed in January, they did not bring in a replacement. And somehow, they went one step further this summer, allowing Adam Idah to head to Swansea City without replacing him either.

Some might point towards the addition of Kelechi Iheanacho. But we all know that was a last resort signing. Celtic failed to sign a striker on deadline day and only had free agents available to them after that. Otherwise, it is hard to imagine that they would bring in someone with one goal in his last 15 appearances, while on loan at Middlesbrough. Incidentally, the Hoops had him on their radar in January as well but the Nigerian international decided to head to Boro.

Right-back is turning out to be another area of need quickly though. Alistair Johnston suffered a hamstring injury recently and is expected to remain out for months. And now, it looks like Anthony Ralston is dealing with an issue as well.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Anthony Ralston is poised to pull out of the Scotland squad. He went into the game against the Rangers at Ibrox still feeling the effects of an ankle knock. That makes him a doubt for at least Celtic's next league game.

That would leave Colby Donovan as the only option at right-back. It could be a big opportunity for the youngster. But its is not the ideal situation to be in for sure.

Let's see what the future holds for Ralston. Hopefully, the issue is nothing serious and he is available once again soon.

If the chance does come for Donovan to play, hopefully, he will be ready. He is considered a big talent at Parkhead for sure.
