Celtic are set to reunite with Kieran Tierney this summer, having agreed a pre-contract agreement with the Scotsman, who is out of contract at Arsenal. He is not the only club hero who is available as a free agent either, as another announcement has been made now. On this occasion, it is unlikely that the Hoops will try to make a return happen on this occasion.
Tottenham Hotspur made the announcement recently. Fraser Forster, Sergio Reguilon and Alfie Whiteman are leaving the club following the conclusion of their contracts.
Forster had two stints at Celtic. He made a return on loan in the 2019/20 campaign, helping the Hoops to another treble and putting in a classic performance in the League Cup final, keeping the Rangers at bay almost single-handedly.
He had the chance to return on a permanent basis the following summer. It is believed that Southampton were open to the idea as well but ultimately, Forster decided to pass on the idea and stay in the Premier League.
Another Celtic hero now available on free transfer
Forster would go on to spent the next couple of years at Southampton. He would then leave to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 and has had a three-year run at the club, longer than most would have expected.
Now 37 years of age, it is not hard to understand why Tottenham Hotspur have decided to part ways with Forster. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Interestingly, Celtic are in need of a goalkeeper as well with Scott Bain set to leave the club this summer, having spent more than seven years at Parkhead. But it is believed that the Hoops already have a replacement lined up as they have agreed a pre-contract with Ross Doohan, whose exit has been confirmed by Aberdeen.
