Brendan Rodgers is facing his toughest moment as Celtic manager right now. After the defeat at the hands of Dundee FC, there are serious question marks over whether he will even finish this campaign in the job. But even if he does do that, there is very little chance that he would end up extending his contract with the Hoops.
To be very honest, a parting of ways feels like what Celtic need right now. Rodgers has been a terrific manager during his two spells at the club. That being said, it is clearly not working. The football has been uninspiring for a while, and now, the results have stopped coming as well.
If or when Rodgers leaves, who will replace him as Celtic manager? Well, a lot of fans want to see Ange Postecoglou return to Parkhead, despite his failed spell at Nottingham Forest, as he was sacked after just 39 days in charge of the Premier League club.
Would Postecoglou want to return to Celtic though, having left merely two years ago? Or would he want to continue his career down south or in a different European league? It was not too long ago that he was being linked with clubs like Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen.
Ange Postecoglou's stance on blockbuster Celtic return
As reported by Football Insider, Postecoglou would seriously consider a return to Celtic if the opportunity arose. On the other hand, the Australian could be an option for the club if Rodgers decides not to sign a new deal.
There is no doubt that Postecoglou's run as Nottingham Forest manager was a complete failure. That being said, we do believe that he returns to Celtic, it will be a grand success.
If you ask us, he is perfect for the club. It is very clear that the Hoops do not want to splash out, and Postecoglou is capable of identifying top quality talent for low transfer fees from around the globe.
