When Tottenham Hotspur decided to sack Ange Postecoglou just weeks after he won them the Europa League, the expectation was that it would not be long before other Premier League clubs came calling. That is exactly what has happened with the Australian becoming the new Nottingham Forest manager just months later. And he made a very honest claim about Celtic in his unveiling as the two-time European champions' new head coach.
Postecoglou had quite the spell at Celtic. It is worth remembering that he receiving his first real chance in European football at Parkhead, when he was brought in in the summer of 2021.
Postecoglou did not let the chance slip. He won five trophies in two seasons and was very popular at Celtic Park. But then he left in order to join Tottenham Hotspur.
And it does not seem to be a decision that he regrets despite having fond memories of his time at Celtic in his heart. As reported by CeltsAreHere, the Australian manager said at his Nottingham Forest unveiling:
"I’m very proud of what we achieved there, and it will always take a special place in my heart. How it ended? I don’t really think about it.
“And to be fair, I’ve done it a couple of times myself. I left Celtic, and I’m sure that they were disappointed. I left Yokohama, and I’m sure that they were disappointed.
“So you understand that that’s part of the business we’re in. But that’s okay, it’s allowed me to move into this, and maybe these things happen for a reason."

It is worth pointing out that Postecoglou did not get his chance to manage in Europe until his mid-50s. It is an opportunity that he had clearly been waiting for.
So, he did not really have the time to spend a ton of time at one place. If he had a bucket list, then he had to go through it quick.
When Spurs came calling, it was very possible that it was going to be his first and last chance to manage a Big Six Premier League side. So, nobody can blame him for taking it and he did bring silverware there.
