Ange Postecoglou makes bold Celtic claim amid Tottenham struggles
Ange Postecoglou is one of the most popular Celtic managers in recent history and for good reason. Even though he spent just two seasons at Parkhead, he connected with the fans in a unique and better than most have. Of course, the fact that the Hoops were in a terrible position when he arrived and he almost immediately guided them back to the top of Scottish football has a lot to do with it as well.
Thus, Postecoglou took a risk when leaving Celtic to join Tottenham Hotspur. His first season down south was a positive one.
Before early season injuries, Tottenham Hotspur had looked like title contenders in the previous campaign. This time around, their start has been very different though.
The North London club find themselves sitting at 9th in the Premier League table. Naturally, questions are being raised about his future with the club. Amidst this, Postecoglou has made a very interesting claim regarding his time managing Celtic.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou told Optus Sport:
"The club (Spurs) has its own unique challenges, for sure. Are they more difficult than others? I don’t know. When I was at Celtic, people said ‘Well, yeah, but Celtic are expected to win’. I go, ‘Yeah, that’s right, you’re expected to win’.
“You lose one game and it’s a big problem for you. Not many can cope with that. So it’s just a different challenge [at Spurs] for sure. But I get why people would say 'well no, it's because of the level you're at now and the scrutiny that you're not having success.'
"I don't believe that. Well, I still believe we are going to have success. But there's nothing that I'm facing here that I think is insurmountable."
Some people down south might not recognise it but Celtic are one of the most difficult teams to manage in the world. Of course, the expectation is to win and the Hoops should win given the situation they are in.
But at the same time, the expectation is to win almost every game. Lost or draw one and questions are being raised and it really does not matter what you have done as a manager in the past. Just take the recent loss at the hands of Borussia Dortmund as an example. You would forget that the Hoops have won every other game this season. That is the reality of life when you are managing the biggest club in Glasgow.
