It looks like Celtic have failed once again as the striker has agreed personal terms over a January move.

This January transfer window might be starting to get more frustrating for Celtic fans than the summer one. Coming into it, it was quite evident that additions needed to be made if the club were to somehow turn this campaign around. Since then, Wilfried Nancy has been sacked and replaced by Martin O'Neill. The Northern Irishman has been continuously asking for signings in the media as well.

Those requests have not been made. The only addition remains Julian Araujo, who was brought in while Nancy was still manager. And even that is a loan deal until the end of the season.

Celtic's recruiting failures almost defy logic. On the other hand, the Rangers have already completed three signings, two permanent and one loan, and are expected to make more before the window closes. The Ibrox recruitment team is delivering, while the Parkhead one looks out of date.

We have seen them fail to sign quite a few players this month already. Kyogo, Jocelin Ta Bi and Niko Sigur are on that list. And it might be time to add another one.

Celtic fail once again as striker agrees personal terms

As reported by the Daily Record, Franko Kovacevic has already agreed personal terms after a £2.6 million deal was thrashed out between both clubs. He is on his way to Budapest to put pen to paper on a contract.

Well, that is the end of the Kovacevic to Celtic rumours then. Quite a few reliable outlets had confirmed the club's interest in the player. But it looks like they are set to miss out again.

The transfer fee surely could not have been a problem for a striker who has scored 25 goals in 28 games this season. If it indeed was not, could Celtic not have competed with Ferencvaros for a signing? No matter which way you look at it, this situation is growing more worrisome by the day.
