It is that time of the season again, when the Rangers are looking for a new manager. For the fourth straight campaign, the Ibrox club have shown the exit door to their head coach, and this one happened in record time. Of course, Celtic have their own worries at the moment but they pale in comparison to how bad things have gotten for the blue side of Glasgow.
This was supposed to be the season in which they turned things around. A new ownership arrived, significant investment was made in the summer transfer window and Russell Martin was brought in to steer the ship.
123 days later, Martin was sacked after one win in seven league games, a 9-1 aggregate Champions League qualifier defeat and two losses in the Europa League. At this point, one has to wonder if the problems are down to the manager, the players, the club or if it is a combination of the three.
Right now, the Rangers are looking to turn back the clock to the final person to enjoy any sort of success in the league against Celtic. And it looks like the appointment is on the verge of being completed.

As reported by The Fitbaw Gospel, Steven Gerrard has agreed in principle to return to Rangers. He will meet with the Rangers board in London to iron out a few odds and ends to finalise a five year deal.
That is not a move that Celtic fans seem to be worried about either. One wrote in the comments: "5-year's contract 2 be sacked next year."
It remains to be seen how things go for Gerrard if he does indeed make a return to Ibrox this summer. Will he be given the time that he was allowed last time around, winning one trophy in more than three years with the club?
