Celtic are expected to make signings this winter. They have been linked with a long list of players including high-profile names like Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Kieran Tierney, Christian Eriksen and more. But on the other hand, there are plenty who could be heading for the Parkhead exit door as well, whether on loan or on a permanent basis.
In most of those cases, players struggling for playing time will be the ones making a move. But in one instance, it is someone who is in the form of his life right now.
The player we are talking about is Alexandro Bernabei. The left-back was a forgotten figure at Parkhead but found his form while on loan at SC Internacional.
He was the best left-back in the Brazilian league. And now, it looks like that is where his future lies. As reported by The Celtic Star, according to various sources in South America, Bernabei is moving ever so closer to sealing a permanent move to Internacional. The Hoops will be receiving around €7 million for his signature.
€7 million Celtic transfer could be announced soon
Interestingly, Celtic could do with another option at left-back as well. Greg Taylor has been on the receiving end of quite a bit of criticism in recent times.
On the other hand, his contract is running down as well. He is set to become a free agent in the summer, unless an extension is agreed by then. Some rumours have linked him with a move to Dinamo Zagreb as well.
One has to wonder whether Celtic are already viewing Tierney as the replacement for Taylor. But no matter which way you look at it, it appears that there is no place for Bernabei in the club's long-term plans, despite his impressive form out on loan.
