Celtic are moving fast in the summer transfer window, with talks seemingly being held to sign players left, right and centre. Deals for Isaac English and Callum Osmand are believed to be as good as done. On the other hand, negotiations have progressed to bring in Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland and Hayato Inamura from Albirex Niigata. And it does not end there.
Nygren is a Swedish international winger. But there have been suggestions that Brendan Rodgers is planning to use him as a number 10 instead. The Hoops remain in search to add to their wide ranks, with Jota out injured for the foreseeable future.
One of the players they have been linked with is Michel-Ange Balikwisha. He has been on the Hoops' radar going back to last summer. The time might finally be right for him to leave Royal Antwerp. And it looks like Celtic are still in the mix to sign him.
As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, talks between Celtic and Balikwisha are still underway. The Belgian winger’s keen on the move.
£5m player keen on joining Celtic as talks underway
Last summer, it was believed that Royal Antwerp were looking for a transfer fee in the region of £10 million to part ways with Balikwisha. But now, that figure seems to have dropped to a 'bargain' £5 million.
That is largely due to the fact that Balikwisha spent most of the 24/25 campaign out injured. As a result, naturally, interest in signing him has decreased. Of course, that might help Celtic bring him in for a lower transfer fee.
Of course, it remains to be seen if Celtic do make a genuine push to bring him in. But if they do, he could be a solid addition to the wing ranks. Also, it is great to see the club show this kind of urgency.
