Celtic are going to have to do some shopping this summer as they look to put together a much more dominant campaign than the last. Martin O'Neill is set to take the job on full-time, and by all indications, the veteran is expected to demand a handful of new signings.
Naturally, the Bhoys will need to manage their budget, and here we take a look at three Premier League free agent options that could help save them some cash.
Yves Bissouma
The Bhoys have an absence of out-and-out defensive midfielders, with only Callum McGregor a true defensive-minded midfielder. Bissouma leaves Tottenham at the end of his contract this summer, and O'Neill is the sort of manager who can get him bought in.
The midfielder has had some trouble off the pitch, but he finished the season pretty well with Spurs, and he still has a lot to offer at 29 years of age. Celtic could offer him a starting spot and a starring role in this team, and he has the potential to dominate Premiership midfields next season.
It would be an ambitious move, but even on a relatively short-term and high-paying deal, it may be one worth looking into.
Illan Meslier
Celtic are going to need to add another goalkeeper to the mix following the retirement of Kasper Schmeichel, and Meslier is available as he prepares to leave Leeds United.
Meslier was Leeds' starter for a good few years, even in their last Premier League stint, but Karl Darlow's good form over the last couple of seasons has seen the Welsh international grab the starting role.
Meslier has some shortcomings, particularly in the air, but he is still a very decent goalkeeper with good shot-stopping ability. He is worth at least considering as an option this summer, given he has top flight experience and is available on a free deal. He is only 26 years of age, too.
Callum Wilson
One that screams Celtic and Martin O'Neill transfer more than the rest, veteran striker Wilson is available after leaving relegated West Ham. He doesn't have the legs of his prime days, but Wilson is still a very experienced goalscorer who would surely find the net at least semi-regularly in the Premiership, even at 34 years of age.
A one-year deal would be well worth the money to bring in someone as experienced as Wilson, who will also be a great voice to have in the dressing room. O'Neill loves this sort of player, and it would be no surprise if the Bhoys did reach out.
