A number of players have been linked with Celtic in recent weeks as the club are expected to strengthen in the summer transfer window. One area where the Hoops will hopefully look to make an addition is up top, as they never really replaced Kyogo Furuhashi, who joined Rennes in the winter. Instead, Daizen Maeda was moved to a central role.

Admittedly, Maeda has done a phenomenal job in that role, even better than Kyogo. That being said, Celtic should not overlook the need for another option there. Injuries are always a worry, and there needs to be a backup plan or two.

Johnny Kenny is expected to head out on loan again, having failed to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers' plans. On the other hand, one player that Celtic have been linked with recently is Moussa Soumano of AC Ajaccio.

But as reported by Africafoot, Brentford have already approached the player's entourage for negotiations. The Bees are said to have made an offer of around €3 million to convince Soumano to sign with the English club.

Of course, that is the type of figure that Celtic would be able to offer as well, if they were convinced that Soumano is the right player for them in the long run. He currently plays in the second division of French football though.

So, there would be a risk with any move. There would certainly be an adjustment involved in going from Ligue 2 to the Scottish Premiership and especially, the Champions League.

For now, Celtic's focus has to be on finishing the season strong, although they have already sealed the Premiership title. The Scottish Cup is up for grabs and they will play the final against Aberdeen. Both Maeda and Adam Idah are in good form right now.
