Celtic have enjoyed a very solid start to the season with the exception of that ill-fated Champions League qualifying second leg. The Bhoys have a 100% record in the Premiership, and they have also reached the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.
That playoff secon leg is the only real black mark, with Martin O'Neill likely to be delighted with how his team are performing, particularly going forward, with the front line looking extremely sharp and dangerous.
For now, it is only a start, and Celtic are going to have to maintain it for it to mean anything, but there are plenty of positive signs. There have been positives aplenty, but which players find themselves with a point to prove at this still early stage?
Sebastian Tounekti
O'Neill has laid down the gauntlet to Tounekti, who could well start on Wednesday night, when Celtic face St Johnstone in the absence of left-winger Yang Hyun-jun, who is away for the next few weeks at the Asian Games.
Tounekti has looked sharp at times, but he has struggled to find consistency, especially in the final third. Celtic need to see more of that consistency from the winger, and if he doesn't take his chance now, he might end up missing the bus.
When Yang comes back, Celtic are going to have more competition than ever at the top end of the pitch, especially if everyone stays fit, and Tounekti may drop down the pecking order if he cannot show the consistency O'Neill wants and needs.
Luke McCowan
McCowan is not going to go on to be a starter, but he needs to win over fans after his disappointing cameo in that LASK second leg. Some of the criticism was over the top, but the truth is that the game will have harmed how much O'Neill trusts McCowan to come on in games.
Celtic may well need their whole squad in what could be a long season due to the presence of Europa League football, and O'Neill needs to know he can trust players like McCowan. The 28-year-old needs a good cameo or two to turn the tide.
Kasper Hogh
Hear me out. There is no doubt that Hogh is a very good player and a good-looking signing who has the potential to score goals aplenty in the Premiership.
But the reality is that he has missed chances aplenty, many more than he has scored, and he is going to need to make sure that missing good chances does not become a trademark. Hogh has done very well in holding up the ball and bringing wingers into play, but aside from his four-goal game, he hasn't been good enough in front of goal. When he comes back from injury, be it Wednesday night or Sunday, he needs to start putting chances away more consistently, or O'Neill may rely on Camilo Duran to get him goals from a more central spot.
