Tottenham Hotspur made a fantastic start to the season under the management of Ange Postecoglou. With Harry Kane leaving the club in the summer for Bayern Munich, most expected them to struggle. Instead, they appeared to be putting up an unlikely title challenge and were sitting atop the Premier League table not too long ago. That was until recent injuries. And now, it looks like they are stepping up their bid to sign a Celtic-linked player.

Tottenham Hotspur have lost three games on the trot as key players like James Maddison, Micky van de Veen, Ivan Perisic and more are out injured. So, it is expected that they will strengthen in the winter transfer window.

Postecoglou seems to be aiming for a reunion with one of his best signings for Celtic. That is none other than Jota, who has had a nightmare spell at Al-Ittihad so far.

As reported by The Times, Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their interest in Jota. The Premier League club are looking for cover on the wing after injuries to Manor Solomon and Perisic. The Portuguese winger is available on loan.

The chance to reunite with Postecoglou is expected to interest Jota. He has played the best football of his career, and by far, under the management of the Australian, during their two seasons together at Celtic Park.

Interestingly, Jota has been linked with a return to Celtic as well. It remains to be seen how things play out.

Celtic do appear to be lacking a bit of spark up top at the moment and could do with a talent like Jota. The Portuguese winger was arguably their most creative player before he left for Al-Ittihad. He had the ability to make something happen out of nothing and decide close games.
