Ange Postecoglou made the move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and it was only a matter of time before the Australian was linked with a reunion with some Celtic players. The manager enjoyed a lot of success at Parkhead, even though he was at the club for just two seasons, and won five trophies including a treble days before leaving.

Postecoglou has been doing great at Tottenham Hotspur as well. But their form has dipped considerably with key players like James Maddison and Micky van de Ven picking up injuries. The likes of Ivan Perisic, Richarlison and more are out as well.

So, the club are expected to strengthen in the January transfer window. And they have been linked with a few Celtic players lately.

One of them is Kyogo Furuhashi, who was pretty much Postecoglou’s first signing at Celtic and one who set the tone for his run at Parkhead. Pulling off a move for the Japanese forward, especially in January, will be difficult though.

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Dean Jones said regarding the situation involving Tottenham Hotspur and Kyogo:

"“I don’t think so, not in the immediate future. I think that’ll be tough for Tottenham to do in January. We know he is a player they’ve had their eye on, but Celtic don’t want to lose him. So, I think the likelihood around that one midway through the season will be unlikely. From a Celtic point of view, they’ll continue to be fully focused on the fact that he’s staying at the club, and they won’t worry about it.”"

Kyogo signed a long-term contract extension with Celtic very recently. He also seems to love life at Parkhead and is one of the most popular figures amongst the fans. So, the club are not expected to be under any pressure to part ways with the Japanese international anytime soon.

Letting Kyogo go, especially in the middle of the season, would be almost unthinkable. He might not be having his best campaign but he is still Celtic’s most decisive player and by some distance. After all, he has scored against teams like the Rangers, Atletico Madrid and Lazio.

Expect to see Kyogo remain at Parkhead for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, he will rediscover his best form soon.
