Celtic have already dealt with and continue to deal with a number of fitness issues. Just at this moment, they have three key starters out of action for the foreseeable future in the form of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada. Thus, Brendan Rodgers’ side deserve a lot of credit for continuing to produce results consistently at the domestic level.

At the same time, Celtic fans will be hoping that they do not have to deal with any more fitness issues anytime soon. But now, it looks like there is further cause for concern.

Luis Palma is someone who has been shining lately for both club and country. In the last match before the international break, he scored once and provided three assists in a 6-0 win over Aberdeen. On the other hand, he produced a man of the match performance while representing Honduras in their 2-0 win over Mexico.

Unfortunately, it looks like Palma is dealing with some discomfort right now. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Honduras boss Reinaldo Rueda said:

"“Luis Vega has a discomfort in his shoulder, and a small discomfort that Luis Palma has in a duel he had with Sanchez, we have those situations, today we will have our first training session.“Yesterday recovery work was done, all joint mobility was stimulated and there we will see the evolution of the entire group.”"

Celtic fans will be hoping that it is not a serious issue for Palma. The comments from the Honduras boss do not sound too concerning.

But at the same time, we have seen a number of issues in recent times, which were not thought to be serious initially but have gone on to keep players on the sidelines for months. So, it is natural that fans are worried.

At the same time, Celtic already have two key wingers out injured in the form of Maeda and Abada. If Palma has to spend time on the sidelines as well, then the options left would be James Forrest, Mikey Johnston, Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun. Not the ideal situation to be in for sure.
