Conor McGregor is one of the most famous athletes ever. The Irishman’s prime came in the mid-2010s, as he enjoyed a meteoric rise to become the first-ever simultaneous two-division UFC champion. He also shared the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather in the second-biggest PPV in history. And in the past, he has expressed interest in becoming a Celtic owner.

Those claims did not go down too well with the majority of the club’s supporters. But they will surely appreciate McGregor’s most recent comments about Celtic Park.

In the past, there has been a tifo at Celtic Park, with one of McGregor’s famous quotes. A Twitter user recently posted a picture of that and asked the Irishman whether he had any plans to visit Parkhead in the future.

In reply, McGregor praised the tifo and expressed his desire to visit Celtic Park one day, as he tweeted back:

"“This is incredible! Hopefully one day for sure!”"

McGregor is known to be a supporter of Manchester United. But he is also believed to have a soft spot for Celtic.

In the past, he has been pictured wearing a Celtic jersey while training with the name and number of Kieran Tierney in the back. It remains to be seen if he visits Parkhead sometime in the future.

McGregor has not had the best record in recent years, especially since his bout with Mayweather. But he remains one of the biggest names in MMA despite that and is expected to make a much-anticipated return to the octagon soon.

On the other hand, Celtic have a few titles of their own to defend this season. The Hoops were eliminated from the Scottish League Cup in the second round itself but they are leading the Premiership title race at the moment. Also, the Hoops will look for more Scottish Cup success later on in the season.
