Celtic have had to deal with quite a few hurdles already this season. Injuries have arguably been the biggest one. Several key players have had to spend time on the sidelines and many continue to do so. In the first Champions League game with Atletico Madrid, at Parkhead, Reo Hatate got injured. While in the reverse fixture at the Metropolitano Stadium, his Japan international teammate, Daizen Maeda, picked up an injury while making the tackle for which he was sent off.
Maeda might not have an impressive output this season in terms of goals and assists, but he is a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ side without a doubt. The energy and work rate that he brings to the team help set the tone and keep the opposition on their toes throughout the game.
We saw both Luis Palma and Yang Hyun-jun impress in the 6-0 win over Aberdeen. But hopefully, Maeda will be back in action as soon as possible.
Amid all this, Maeda shared a couple of pictures on Instagram. He was on crutches in one of them. It was accompanied by the caption:
"“I’ll come back stronger!”"

While Celtic are top of the Premiership table right now, it just feels like we have never seen this team get out of second gear this season. One of the biggest reasons behind that has been the constant injuries that have clouded the Hoops.
It would be very interesting to see what Rodgers is able to get out of this team, if or when all the key starters are available. Maeda would certainly fall under that category.
Another key player who suffered a knock recently is Kyogo, in the game against Aberdeen. Fortunately, it looks like the matter is nothing serious. Hopefully, he will be back after the international break.
