Celtic fans would have been delighted to see the ball find the back of the net as Oh Hyeon-gyu scored the winner against St Mirren. It was a tough game but three points is all that matters and the supporters would have come out of Parkhead feeling great. But that does not take away from the fact that it was another average performance from the Hoops.

Way too often this season, when the going gets tough, it feels like they run out of ideas to unlock the opposition defence. It might be a case of them still adjusting to Brendan Rodgers’ ways. Or, it could be that they simply do not have enough quality in the squad.

One has to consider the fact that they are missing Jota, who left in the summer. Luis Palma has done well but he is not at that level yet. Also, Liel Abada has been out injured for a while, after impressing earlier in the season. Daizen Maeda has earned a lot of plaudits for his tireless displays but he is not the most effective in terms of goal contributions.

Thus, it feels like they could have done with another player in the final third of the pitch. And perhaps Sead Haksabanovic could have been a good option to have around right now.

As reported by the Daily Record, Alex Neil said:

"“Our wide players are all very different and Haks brings a unique set of qualities that others don’t have.“Technically, he’s excellent. He can come in and roll off that left-hand side onto his right foot, he can stand full-backs up and get at them. We haven’t seen it yet but I see it every day in training, he’s an unbelievable finisher and he gets into good areas. He was very unfortunate at Middlesbrough not to score.“I think he’s bided his time and it was a good day to introduce him. He helped us get a great result. One hundred per cent, there’s a lot more to come from him.”"

That is exactly the profile of player that Celtic could do with at this point in time. Haksabanovic has been excellent on loan at Stoke City. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists in 8 appearances and 436 minutes of action for them so far.

His efforts also won him the Stoke City Player of the Month award for September. And one has to admit that he has been impressive in the English Championship.
