It is nothing new for Celtic players to be linked with a move to the Premier League. Several have made the jump over the years. It has worked out for some and not so much for others. As the financial divide continues to grow between the English top flight and the other European leagues, one can only expect more to head down south in the future.

Celtic have quite a few players right now who are good enough to be playing in the Premier League. Matt O’Riley appears to fall under that category.

O’Riley was already linked with multiple Premier League clubs before this season. And under the management of Brendan Rodgers, he has taken his game up several levels.

His Man of the Match performance against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League was further proof that O’Riley is capable of competing with the very best. Now, it seems like only a matter of time before top clubs come calling for his signature.

As reported by TEAMtalk, O’Riley is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. But it will take a club-record transfer fee to convince Celtic to part ways with the Danish youth international.

The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion had already been linked with O’Riley. Now, it looks like West Ham United have joined the race as well.

The Hammers are enjoying a decent start to the season and are currently managed by former Celtic player, David Moyes. The club have been splashing out lately and signed highly-rated players like Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse over the summer.

Celtic fans will be hoping that O’Riley remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future despite the nonstop rumours about an exit. Let’s see how things play out.
